According to real estate site Curbed, for the past decade, and in anticipation of rezoning, developers have been strategically acquiring low-rise industrial buildings, particularly around the canal. Some, like Domain Properties and Property Markets Group, who own large tracts of land in the neighborhood, now essentially have the power to remodel it.
