Roma– “Mine was just a warning to other parents!” Massimo Ghini is bewildered by the clamor that has caused having told the bad adventure experienced by his son. “Lorenzo is the oldest of my four children, he is 25 and lives at home with me – explains the actor – but in this period of seclusion he decided with four other friends to rent an apartment to share what is shareable: that I know … see each other a game, play the playstation … In short, he was looking for a little freedom. Obviously they had all done the quick swab in advance: all negative. They were calm and I too was relatively calm, because they weren’t going to gather for an aperitif or anything else, they were closed at home, but they kept each other company. And we also need to understand them: young people can no longer bear the cloister, they need to let off steam. Also, my son is of age, he can decide what he wants ».

“At a certain point he calls me, saying he wasn’t feeling well and, when he found out he was positive, he decided not to go home, so as not to create problems in the family. So I consulted a doctor friend of ours who, when he understood the symptoms, immediately decided to send him an ambulance and transfer him to the hospital: he was diagnosed with bilateral pneumonia».

“Absolutely not. On the other hand, in this period I also continued to work on the set and, despite all of us being buffered, there have been some cases of Covid: we are talking about a terrible, malignant disease … let’s hurry up with vaccines ».

“Fortunately, everyone was fine, but when the news about Lorenzo came out, my son Leonardo, who is working with Fausto Brizzi on another film, was filled with phone calls: they thought he was the positive! Then he phoned me desperately asking me: dad what did you say? He didn’t understand what was happening. The youngest daughter, Margherita, is studying in London: she wanted to return for Easter and we, with great sadness, advised her to stay there for the moment, we would not like that, maybe on the plane … For us it is a sacrifice, but necessary . What I’m sorry about is something else ».

You are a man of cinema and theater: the hope of the reopening from March 27?

“A million dollar question. Last Monday I was with my colleagues to demonstrate, in front of the Brancaccio Theater, for the reopening, but they cannot tell us overnight, especially to us who work in the private theater. For public stages, the question is easier, throughout this period they have had substantial contributions, but we cannot and we cannot raise the curtain and propose only monologues. The ministry of culture must use a balance of economic support that not only leans on one side, but is balanced ».
