This demonstration is the aftermath of being rejected Master Abdul Somad (UAS) entered Singapore some time ago.
The Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E Zulpan said that his party had received a notification letter regarding the demonstration and would provide security.
“A notification letter has been given to the Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Polda Metro Jaya,” Zulpan told reporters.
Based on the notification letter received by the police, the mass of action is estimated at 50 people.
Zulpan did not disclose the number of security personnel deployed. He only mentioned that there was no special security, even though the demonstration was held in front of the embassies of other countries.
Moreover, personnel from Ditpamobvit Polda Metro Jays have also been guarding and securing every embassy office in Jakarta.
“Yes, it’s normal, don’t overdo it, we will also see from the submissions who will express their opinions, they also convey an estimated mass of 50, we will also see from the notification, we will adjust it,” he said.
According to the action leaflets circulating, Perisai will hold a demonstration in front of the Singapore Embassy at around 13.00 WIB.
The leaflet also stated that their demands were to expel the Singaporean Ambassador if within 2×24 hours they did not apologize to the Indonesian people.
Previously, UAS and his entourage were refused entry to Singapore last Monday. He was detained for several hours before finally being asked to return to Indonesia.
The Singapore government considers UAS to be spreading extremist and segregated teachings. The Singapore government also criticized UAS’s statement that he had discussed suicide bombings in his lectures.
“Somad is known to spread extremist teachings and segregation, which is unacceptable in Singapore’s multi-racial and multi-religious society,” the Ministry of Home Affairs official website said.
