Major General Abu Al-Wafa Rashwan, the private secretary of former President Hosni Mubarak, died today, Monday, and he was born in the Abu Tisht Center in Qena Governorate.

Major General Abu Al-Wafa Rashwan worked in the Republican Guard and then the Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, after graduating from the Military Academy in 1971.

Journalist Mustafa Bakri mourned Major General Abu Al-Wafa Rashwan, saying: “Shortly ago, Major General Abu Al-Wafa Rashwan, head of the secretariat of former President Hosni Mubarak (may God have mercy on him), passed away. Qena, we were proud of him and his love for his family, and he was always a noble person.”

He added: “For many years I knew him, I was always eager to see him, he was an authentic person, a symbol of our governorate Qena, he did not forget his village and did not forget his position (Abocht) he was always proud that he belonged to the good land and was proud of its people, before I got to know him I got to know me His brother, Representative Ahmed Rashwan, a member of the Shura Council, had a relationship with the honorable family, and I used to attend meetings and conferences in his village and meet his family who have a great deal of support in our province.

It is noteworthy that Major General Abu Al-Wafaa Rashwan accompanied Mubarak until November 2010, and he rose in the service from a private guard to an assistant and a private secretary, and his second rank after the late Jamal Abdulaziz Al-Rashidi.

Rashwan testified, as the second secretary of former President Mubarak, in what was known as the “trial of the century” after Farid El-Deeb, the defense of the defendants, asked the court to listen to the testimony of the witness, as the court found that he was already in the hall, so it asked him to give his statement.
