MARTUNIS is a figure that shocked Indonesia in 2004 ago. He was one of the victims during the earthquake and tsunami that hit Aceh on December 26, 2004. The natural disaster also made Martunis the adopted son of the Manchester United superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Martunis’ story begins with him playing soccer with friends on that fateful day. While playing, a tsunami came to Martunis’ place.
Martunis with his mother, whose name is Salwa, and his two brothers, namely Salwa (older brother, Nurul A’la) and Annis (his sister), tried to save themselves by riding in a neighbor’s pick-up car. At that time, the father was working in the pond.
However, Martunis’s efforts did not bear fruit. Because, the pick-up car was rolled up by the tsunami waves. Only Martunis, who was seven years old, survived the pickup.
Martunis was adrift in the sea for 21 days. At that time, Martunis used a piece of wood and a mattress to prevent it from sinking. Martunis also climb trees to survive.

However, he was carried back into the sea, and finally stranded in the swamps near the grave of Tengku Syiah Kuala. Residents also found it on January 15, 2005.
