“It’s been a year, even hard to grasp. It seems long, but at the same time barely,” says Ilze Grase-Ķibilde, the wife of Mārtiņš Ķibilds.

She is currently working on a special project in which Mārtiņš plays a big role. “My family and I are working on a project that will digitize the keys to Mārtiņš’s history projects. It will be a birthday present to Latvia,” promising that fans of Ķibilda’s talent will be introduced to it in early November.

We remind you that on October 26 last year, at the age of 46, television personality and journalist Mārtiņš Ķibilds suddenly passed away. Mārtiņš’s family later announced the official cause of death on social networks: “The result of the autopsy is short and unforgiving: acute coronary heart disease. Mārtiņš’s heart stopped beating asleep in an Amsterdam hotel.”

Ķibilds has created and directed such programs as “Keys”, “Addresses” and “Kultūrdeva” on Latvian Television. He has also been on the show “Want to be a Millionaire?” the host. Ķibilds was also the chairman of the board of the Latvian Architects’ Union.

On November 8, a farewell from Kibilda took place in Torņakalns Church, Riga. The day before, a series of the program “Addresses” was published, in which Ķibilds was still filmed – it had remained unfinished, but thanks to his older sons Gustav and Brunis, it came on TV screens.
