Maroc PME: 14,034 self-employed and project leaders supported in 2019

Maroc PME supported 14,034 self-employed entrepreneurs and project leaders over the past year. Likewise, the number of investment projects supported reached 152 in 2019, up 58% compared to 2018.

The number of projectsinvestment supported by the National Agency for the Promotion of Small and Medium-Sized Business (Maroc PME) reached 152 in 2019, up 58% compared to 2018. In terms of entrepreneurial support, the number of self-employed and promoters of beneficiary projects reached 14,034. Note that the Board of Directors of Morocco SME was held on Thursday, July 23, 2020, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy, Mr. Moulay Hafid Elalamy. It should be noted that the work of the Board of Directors focused in particular on examining the results of the Agency’s activities during 2019 and the 2020-2023 action plan.

In detail, the investment projects generated an investment of 2.2 billion DH, an increase of 29% compared to a year earlier. Regarding support in terms of advice and technical assistance, the number of beneficiary projects reached 372 in 2019, up 12% compared to 2018, said the same source. Over the 2014-2020 period, Agence Maroc PME supported 2,242 growth and transformation projects for very small, small and medium-sized enterprises (VSEs) involving a investment total of 10.65 billion DH and a commitment of 105,799 jobs, including 54,515 direct.

It should also be noted that the agency has set up targeted programs adapted to each phase of covid-19. This is the launch of the program Imtiaz Technology Covid-19 to encourage investments in the equipment necessary to deal with the pandemic (Phase 1 – start of the crisis), and an offer of Covid-19 advice and technical expertise to support SMEs in the management of difficulties caused by the pandemic and the preparation of plans for resuming their activities (Phase 2 – resumption of activity).

The third phase, “relaunch”, saw the launch of a new generation of more advantageous and more accessible support programs to support the relaunch. The Board of Directors also approved the multi-year action plan of the Agency which provides for the reconfiguration and enrichment of current support programs, the launch of new programs, the strengthening of the Agency’s regional coverage and its digital transformation.
