Apple Back-to-School Sale Expected Next Week
Deals on Macs and iPads Could Arrive as Early as Monday
Students and educators should prepare for Apple’s annual back-to-school promotion, anticipated to launch next week. The yearly event typically provides incentives for purchasing Apple products ahead of the fall semester.
Offer Details Emerge
According to a report from Bloomberg, the offers are slated to begin on June 17th in the United States. These promotions will supplement existing educational discounts, such as the $100 reduction on the MacBook Air and $50 off the iPad Air.
Eligible products often include the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg suggests Apple may also include complimentary gift cards with qualifying purchases.
Last year’s gift cards ranged in value from $100 to $150, as reported by MacRumors. These cards could be used toward additional Apple products, accessories, subscriptions to services like iCloud+, AppleCare+, and Apple Music.
Who Qualifies for the Discounts?
Typically, eligibility extends to students currently enrolled in or accepted to college, faculty and staff at higher education institutions, parents purchasing for eligible students, and employees of K-12 schools. Verification may require a .edu email address or student ID.
The demand for technology among students continues to rise; a 2024 study by the National Center for Education Statistics found that 95% of students in postsecondary institutions reported using a computer for academic purposes (NCES Fast Facts).
Further details regarding specific discounts and eligibility requirements will be available on Apple’s education store website once the promotion goes live.
Gurman’s predictions have been accurate for the past three years, indicating the discounts will likely be available through mid-September.
