Mark Blum, seen in “Crocodile Dundee”, died of complications from coronavirus

CULTURE – Mark Blum, known for his role in the film “Crocodile Dundee”, has died at the age of 69, announced on Thursday 26 March Playwright Horizons Theater Company. The actor is said to have died after complications from the coronavirus.

His death was confirmed by his spokesperson at The Independant.

Born in 1950 in the state of New Jersey, Mark Blum has performed on Broadway stages throughout his career. But his notoriety increased after his appearance in comedy “Desperately looking for Susan” in 1985 then in “Crocodile Dundee” the following year, where he played the role of Richard Mason, the lover of lead actress Sue Charlont (Linda Kozlowski).

On Instagram, Madonna praised “a remarkable man, actor and friend, Mark Blum, who died of the coronavirus. (…) I remember him as a funny, warm, caring and professional man when we shot “Desperately looking for Susan” in 1985. Yet another reminder that this virus is not a game ”, wrote the singer who played the role of “Susan” in the film.

More recently, Mark Blum had appeared in the series “You” broadcast on Netflix, in the role of Mr. Mooney, the owner of the bookstore where Joe Goldberg works during season 1.
