Andrews Determined to Prove Doubters Wrong

After facing criticism, **Mark Andrews** is entering his eighth season with a clear goal: to demonstrate his capabilities and contribute significantly to the team’s success. The tight end aims to silence the noise and reaffirm his value.

Andrews Responds to Criticism

Last month, **Lamar Jackson** voiced his disapproval of negative comments surrounding **Mark Andrews** following the tight end’s performance against the Bills. It appears **Andrews** felt the sting as well, motivated to set the record straight.

“[I’ve had] to eat a lot of shit in the last however long it’s been,” **Andrews** stated, according to Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Banner. “But I’m excited to go show who I am, what I can be and what I can help this team with, because I’m not done yet.”

**Andrews** is referencing a costly fumble in the fourth quarter and a critical dropped pass in the final minutes against the Bills.

Contract Year Motivation

Entering the final year of his contract, **Andrews’s** future has been uncertain. He emphasized his focus on what he can control amidst the speculation and criticism during the offseason. Despite the noise, **Andrews** seeks to prove his worth.

During the 2023 season, **Andrews** recorded 55 receptions for 673 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Top-Ten Ranking Sparks Reaction

Upon learning about an ESPN survey ranking him among the top-ten tight ends by league executives, coaches, and scouts, **Andrews** responded with a hint of playful defiance. Despite his impressive touchdown record, he acknowledges areas for improvement.

“I think that there’s not many 11-touchdown guys left off the top tight end list, but it is what it is,” **Andrews** said, smiling. “Again, it wasn’t until six games [into the season] that I scored a touchdown, so I know what I can do. There’s points last year where I wasn’t my best; I wasn’t fully there. But I’ve got a great direction. I’ve been able to take care of my body, learn different ways to stay at the top of my game, and I just know what I can bring and who I am as a player. It’s still there.”

With 10 career games with at least 100 receiving yards, **Andrews** is tied for third among tight ends since 2018, demonstrating his consistent impact (StatMuse 2024).

He affirms his focus on maintaining peak performance through dedicated body care and continuous learning, confident in his ability to contribute significantly.
