The next role of the Bulgarian top star in Hollywood is clear.
The Oscar-nominated Borat 2 actress Maria Bakalova and “Severance” actor Zach Cherry will star in the Jason James comedy film „All Night Wrong“.
By It’s Too Complicated Screenwriter Jason Filiatro, Bakalova and Cheri star as Elle, a heartbroken widow and Gary, a cowardly husband who meet on Tinderto end up with the killer’s car, a dead body, and $40,000 in cash. In a series of bad choices and dangerous encounters, Elle and Gary’s night turns into a chaotic journey filled with battles, mysteries and life-changing consequences.
Pre-production will begin this fall in the Columbia Valley region of British Columbia.
“All Night Wrong” is about two heartbroken individuals who meet online for the wrong reasons, but end up discovering something about each other – and themselves – during one chaotic night. Maria and Zach are the dynamic duo we didn’t know we needed. I can’t wait to start this journey with them,” shared James.
The film is a Canadian-British co-production. The Canadian team is led by Amber Ripley of Goodbye Productions, Jason James of Resonance Films and Richard Condall of Big Safari Productions for the UK. Anamorphic Media’s Sara Schaak is executive producing and overseeing financing. Angela Demo is casting director and executive producer.
Bakalova is best known for her breakout role in Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat 2. She then starred in The Killing Game, The Honeymoon, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Unfrosted. Her next role is Ivanka Trump in Ali Abbasi’s The Apprentice alongside Sebastian Stan and Jeremy Strong. She is repped by CAA, Insight Management, Brookside Artist Management and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, Krintzman.
Cheri stars as Dylan George in season 2 of Severance on Apple TV+. His other television credits include “Fallout” on Prime Video, Duncanville on Fox and The Last OG on TBS.
