On Saturday, the attorney of Margot, an activist LGBT, said he didn’t know where his client was, who was arrested on Friday.
We do not have official information about our client’s whereabouts so far, but I am not in anyone’s head and I do not know why
– he said in an interview with tvn24.pl.

RPO: Margot is fine. He is waiting for contact with defense lawyers
On Sunday Adam Bodnar | posted on Twitter a message from the visit of a representative of the Ombudsman’s Office in the Płock Correctional Facility. As it turns out, that’s where Margot is currently staying.
A detainee is in a single interim cell, where, pursuant to the provisions of the Executive Penal Code, she may stay for up to 14 days. Staying in this cell is also related to the rules adopted during the coronavirus pandemic
– we read in the statement. New people are being isolated to monitor their health and thus prevent the possible spread of COVID-19.
The interview was conducted in private with the detainee in the trial room. She was informed about the rules of pre-trial detention, the necessity to apply to the director of the unit with the request for a vegan diet, a voucher for a clothing package, or the possibility of borrowing books from the library and shopping in the prison canteen
– underlines in the statement of the Ombudsman. As he adds, “the administration of the penitentiary unit cares about ensuring the detainee’s personal safety. After talking to the educator and psychologist on the day of admission to the penitentiary unit, the arrested person feels good. She waits for contact with the defense lawyers”.
From the perspective of respecting the rights of the defense, contact through visions or telephone conversations with lawyers is very important. However, it will only be possible when the disposing authority issues an order granting permission to visit or make telephone calls with defense lawyers. It should be expected that the disposing authority will examine the lawyers’ requests without undue delay

Margot’s arrest case
On Friday, the court granted the prosecutor’s request and decided on a two-month detention for Margot, an activist LGBTwhich is related to, inter alia, with the action of placing rainbow flags on Warsaw monuments. The arrest, however, does not concern hanging flags, but the damage to the van with homophobic slogans and the struggle with its driver.
