The number of corona infections, hospitalizations and deaths is on the rise again. A look at the corona map in our country also shows this: the vast majority of municipalities and cities turn dark red, with more than 200 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.

The map below shows the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants per municipality in the previous two weeks. The redder the town or city colors, the more infections registered in the last 14 days. Those figures come from the federal health institute Sciensano.
A look at the map shows that the situation is very worrying in Brussels, where all municipalities are turning red. The frontrunner is Sint-Jans-Molenbeek, where 945 infections are already detected per 100,000 inhabitants. It even makes the municipality an absolute hotspot on a European level.
But also in the outskirts of Brussels, in municipalities such as Machelen and Vilvoorde, they are already above 500 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. It is also striking that the situation in Wallonia is currently a lot worse than in Flanders.
