Many New Year’s Eve parties despite curfew in South Tyrol – Südtirol News

Bolzano – Although there was a corona-related curfew on New Year’s Eve, there was a surprising amount going on in South Tyrol, the Carabinieri report in a review. About three driver’s licenses were withdrawn.

In the old year, a 20-year-old driver’s license holder from Colfosco was stripped of his license. He was caught by the Carabinieri with almost 1.5 per mille of alcohol in his blood. He and three passengers were also sanctioned for violating the anti-Covid rules. Two young men in Toblach and Sarntal also had to surrender their driving licenses because of drinking and driving. Both had more than one per thousand alcohol in their blood.

Celebration on Talferpromenade dissolved

In Bolzano there were several violations of the curfew: Several young people were “surprised” by the Carabinieri on New Year’s Eve on the Talfer promenade.

Penalties were also issued against a 26-year-old man from Palermo and a 20-year-old Albanian. The Sicilian was not found in his apartment by the officers, although he is under house arrest. The young man from Albania, on the other hand, parked his car directly in front of the Carabinier barracks in Dantestrasse in Bozen, where he was waiting for someone without mouth and nose protection. He was sanctioned because of the Corona measures and parking in the no-parking zone.

A 46-year-old Tunisian without a permanent address was also reported: he is said to have harassed several passers-by in Sorrentostraße while drunk.

Party ended in Deutschnofen

In Deutschnofen, however, the Carabinieri broke up a New Year’s Eve party. Five people were penalized for violating the Corona regulations.

The Carabinieri officials in the Eisack Valley also had their hands full: They had to investigate several missing person reports.

Fall into the empty swimming pool

A 22-year-old man suffered serious injuries around 5 a.m. on New Year’s Day. For unexplained reasons, he fell into the outdoor swimming pool of a hotel on the sidelines of a party with several friends. There was no water in the pool. As the Carabinieri explain, the 22-year-old was operated on in hospital. He and the other party participants must answer for the violation of the Corona measures.
