KOMPAS.com – A number of new clusters Covid-19 appeared ahead of Lebaran 2021 in various regions.
One of them is the homecoming cluster or celebration cluster which happened in Pati district, Central Java.
The transmission of the virus began when a resident who had just returned from Jakarta held a celebration.
After the celebration, 37 residents tested positive for Covid-19.
It is known that the owner of the hospital fell ill and had to be hospitalized after holding a celebration. Later, from the results of the swab examination, the host tested positive for Covid-19.

Impact of Government relaxation
Airlangga University (Unair) Surabaya epidemiologist Windhu Purnomo said the emergence of this new cluster, according to him, could not be separated from the relaxation carried out by the government.
According to him, it seemed as if the government had won against the virus corona, with many shopping malls bustling again and crowd-inducing activity allowed.
“So we are not really preventing the transmission of this virus. We are noticing that cases have decreased too quickly,” said Windhu to Kompas.com, Sunday (2/5/2021).
Although education is still being echoed by the government, it is not enough to stem the rate of mobilization and the crowd.

Policy inconsistencies
Windhu said that the education carried out by the government should be accompanied by consistency in terms of policy. Unfortunately, this consistency is not seen in every government policy.
“Our education does not stop, but education is not enough if the government in its policies carries out relaxation and policies that are paradoxical as well,” he explained.
“For example, going home is prohibited, but tourism can be opened. It’s paradoxical,” said Windhu.
As a result of this paradoxical policy, the public became confused and again neglected to comply with the protocol.
In addition, Windhu said that the government must also have the courage to impose sanctions or law enforcement during a pandemic.
“There must be law enforcement, absolutely it was during a pandemic. That is mandated by the law itself, so the government must have a strong hand, “he said.

Signs of an increase in cases
Windhu warned that cases of Covid-19 infection in Indonesia had stagnated for two weeks.
According to him, previous experience shows that the stagnation of infection cases for a long time is a sign of an increase.
“If the condition is stagnant and long enough, it is one of the signs that our cases will rise again. That must be realized, these patterns occurred in the past and have been known,” he concluded.
