A goal by Uruguayan Edinson Cavani in the final stretch marked Manchester United’s comeback (1-3) against Tottenham, that did not have this Sunday with the Welshman Gareth Bale until the last eight minutes, with the score against.

The fourth victory in a row places Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s team in second place in the Premier League, only surpassed by Manchester City, four days before receiving Granada in the second leg of the Europa League quarterfinals.

It also complicates the European aspirations of José Mourinho’s team, which falls to seventh place, out of international posts. Five points already move him away from fifth place for Chelsea.

Tottenham kept the pulse this day during the first half, which ended with an advantage on the scoreboard for the locals thanks to a goal from the Korean Heung-Min Son to pass from the Brazilian Lucas Moura.

The goal did not reflect the superiority of the team red, which the VAR invalidated a little before signed by Cavani.

Manchester United squeezed in the second half, that equaled game time with a goal from Fred. But the visitor rush at the end had a prize. In the 80th minute, an action by Bruno Fernandes was used by Cavani to beat Hugo Lloris.

It was later when Mourinho turned to Bale to play the last eight minutes. He replaced Lucas. It had no effect. In added time, Manchester United sentenced their triumph with a goal from Mason Greenwood.
