Manchester United is slipping deeper and deeper into the crisis. A striker apparently even went on strike. That’s what coach Rangnick says, but he immediately reaps objections. The incident is not the German’s only problem.

MAnchester United’s German coach Ralf Rangnick has again been forced to do without striker Anthony Martial – because he apparently didn’t want to play.
“He didn’t want to be in the squad,” Rangnick said Saturday night after the disappointing 2-2 draw at Aston Villa during the game’s press conference. “Normally he would have been in the squad but he didn’t want to and that’s why he didn’t travel with us.”

The former Bundesliga coach seems to have had problems with the 26-year-old for a long time. At the beginning of the year, Rangnick had to do without the Frenchman, who obviously wants to leave Manchester.
Martial reacted directly in an Instagram story this weekend and contradicted Rangnick. The attacker, who plans to leave United later this month, has not played since the 2-3 defeat of Arsenal in early December.

“I will never refuse to play a game for Man United,” Martial wrote on the social network. “I’ve been here for seven years and I’ve never disrespected the club or the fans and never will.”
Given the controversial statements, it’s hard to imagine that the coach and the striker will soon work together harmoniously again.
Martial apparently wants to go to Seville
Martial is hoping to move on to a loan deal later this month to play regularly. According to media reports, FC Sevilla is his preferred destination, with FC Barcelona and Juventus Turin also said to be interested in him.
United would reportedly be willing to let Martial out on loan if a club would pay his salary plus a loan fee. United had rejected a first offer from Sevilla at the end of last year.
“He told me he’s been at Manchester United for seven years now and he feels it’s the right time for a change. He wants to go somewhere else,” Rangnick said last December.
Manchester lost a two-goal lead at Aston Villa in the Premier League. Villa’s addition, former Bayern and Liverpool pro Philippe Coutinho, equalized in the 82nd minute. Manchester had previously taken the lead thanks to a brace from Bruno Fernandes (6th/67th).
