The police were notified of a man with a weapon in Trondheim on Wednesday morning.
The man is in his 20s.
The first message came at 09.29, and was that the man was sitting with a weapon on a bus.
– We sent out a number of resources that were armed, says Kirsten Bergstrøm, operations manager in Trøndelag police district.
She confirms to NRK that it is a question of a firearm.
According to the task leader, the man with the weapon was inside McDonald’s on Torvet.
He was found and arrested by the police relatively quickly, according to operations manager Bergstrøm.
– He was found indoors in a public place, she says to NRK.
The arrest must have gone undramatically. Neither the man with the weapon nor witnesses has been questioned on Wednesday morning.
– We are in the initial phase of the investigation, and will return with more in due course.
