A 28-year-old man from Rotterdam was arrested in Breda on Thursday for involvement in drug trafficking, reports the law enforcement. 82 kilos of cocaine and 1.5 million euros in cash were found in his vehicle.
The cocaine and money were found in a hidden area of his car.
The man’s vehicle was checked by police officers from the National Unit on Thursday afternoon. His vehicle was pulling a trailer with another car on it. A hidden space was found in that car containing a large amount of drugs and cash.
After investigation it turned out to be 82 kilos of cocaine and more than 1.5 million euros in cash. The cars, drugs, money and multiple phones have been confiscated.
Police detectives are investigating the case. The suspect is still in custody.
Specialists are increasingly finding hidden spaces in vehicles, the police report. These are spaces that are not standard in the car, but that were later built in in a professional manner. The purpose of these hidden spaces is to withdraw cash, narcotics or weapons from official supervision, for example.
