Man who stabbed to death his daughter-in-law in Queens sentenced to 21 years behind bars – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK – A man has been sentenced to 21 years behind bars and 5 years of supervision for stabbing his daughter-in-law to death, the Queens District Attorney’s Office announced.

According to the report, Dahe Lin, 77, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree in November after fatally stabbing his daughter-in-law in broad daylight outside their Ridgewood home in March 2019.

“This defendant brutally attacked his son’s wife and murdered her on a public street in full view of witnesses. This was an unimaginably horrible crime. The defendant has admitted his guilt and will be punished for taking the life of his daughter-in-law, ”said District Attorney Melinda Katz.

According to the report, on March 28, 2019, around 8:30 a.m., the defendant was seen suffocating Wen Ying He, 50, outside their shared home in Ridgewood. A witness intervened and took the man away from the woman. However, Lin ran inside the house and came back with a kitchen knife. He grabbed his daughter-in-law again and stabbed her repeatedly in the neck.

According to court records, another person who saw the attack waved to a passing police patrol. The defendant was arrested and the victim was taken to a local hospital. The deep knife wounds were extensive, and the woman died several days later.
