Man to hospital after landslide

The case is being updated!

On Wednesday afternoon, emergency services moved out after a report of a landslide over county road 62 near Øksendal.

The landslide is probably due to the extreme weather Gyda, according to the police.

At 22.50, the police confirm to TV 2 that a person has been injured and transported to hospital. The extent of the damage is unknown.

– A man is injured, and has been transported to the hospital in Molde by ambulance, says operations manager Arild Reite police Møre og Romsdal:

– It is still uncertain whether he was injured as a result of the landslide, or whether it is because he has moved over the landslide area afterwards, and then been injured.

Furthermore, Reite says that it is unlikely that more people have been taken by the landslide.

– The crash barrier is complete, so there is nothing to indicate that any cars are involved in the incident, he says to TV 2.

Now the police fear further landslides in the area, and therefore encourage motorists who are waiting for the road to open, to move from the area, reports TV 2’s reporter on the spot.
