Man takes a vigilante hostage in the Milan Cathedral: arrested

Negotiation for the release – The episode, which lasted a few minutes in all, took place around 1pm: the stranger, approached by the vigilante near the altar, took out a knife, pointed it to his throat and made him kneel. Immediately the guard officers intervened and shortly after, following the mediation of a police officer and after a brief negotiation, he abandoned the weapon and left the hostage and was arrested.

Counter-terrorism checks – The anti-terrorism pool of the Milan prosecutor’s office, led by Alberto Nobili, and the Digos investigators are carrying out investigations on the case. The man arrested, in fact, is in the offices of the Digos and could also be heard by the investigators who want to understand the reasons for his gesture, currently unknown. No hypothesis including terrorism is excluded.
