Man steals grandmother’s debit card and withdraws thousands of SRDs

The police in Suriname arrested a 31-year-old man last Friday after he was portrayed as a suspect for taking his own grandmother’s debit card.

The grandmother had previously filed a report with the police after discovering that her debit card had been stolen and then an amount of SRD 9,000 had been taken from her bank account.

Investigation revealed the suspect RH (31) who was arrested by the Nieuw Nickerie police on Friday, September 3, 2021. The man was taken into custody after consultation with the Surinamese Public Prosecution Service.
