Man shot dead while driving in Bronx – NBC New York (47)

NEW YORK – The New York City Police Department launched an investigation Monday after a man was fatally shot in the Bronx.

The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. when police responded to a 911 call outside 2891 Sedgwick Ave.

According to authorities, the 29-year-old victim was at 70 Major Deegan North in a black Toyota Camry when an unidentified individual shot him once in the back.

After the shooting, the victim drove the vehicle near 2891 Sedgwick Ave., where it struck several parked cars and overturned his vehicle, police said.

The 29-year-old man was transported to New York Presbyterian Allen Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

There are no arrests and the identity of the deceased is awaiting communication to the family.
