Man Sentenced for Brutal Murder of partner in East Kilbride Flat
A man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of his partner, Phoenix Spencer-Horn, whose body was discovered in thier East Kilbride flat. The court heard details of the horrific crime, including the discovery of multiple knives at the scene and the perpetrator’s chilling admissions to police.

Police responding to the incident found Ms Spencer-Horn deceased in the hallway of her flat, with two blood-stained knives located nearby. A third knife, also bearing bloodstains, was found in the bathroom.
The individual responsible for the crime,identified as Methven,was reportedly calm upon the arrival of law enforcement. His initial statements to officers included, “I could not stay here with her like that. I tried to dismember her. I moved her from the bath and put her there.” Following his arrest and placement in a police cell, he further commented, “I guess this is what my next 25 years look like.”
During the proceedings, Methven’s legal representative, KC tony Graham, acknowledged that Phoenix Spencer-Horn’s family and friends might perceive methven as the “personification of evil.”
In the aftermath of Ms spencer-Horn’s death, a public fundraising effort generated thousands of pounds to assist with funeral expenses. Her family subsequently donated a meaningful portion of these funds to the Women’s aid charity.
