A rescue mission is currently underway at the Rhine Falls. As pictures from reader reporters show, a helicopter from the AAA Alpine Air Ambulance and divers are on duty. Upon request, the Schaffhausen police only confirm an operation that takes place on both sides of the river. You couldn’t say more at the moment.

According to a reader-reporter, a person was washed down the Rhine Falls around 3:30 p.m. It is said to have been an older man. She says: «When we discovered the man, he was kneeling deep in the water. We shouted to get him out, but the man kept going in. » The reader-reporter immediately alarmed the emergency call. “It is so terrible to experience something like this, you have such minimal chances to help someone in this case.”
