A man was injured this afternoon in a fight on Plein ’40-’45 in Nieuw-West. About seven people were involved in the brawl.
At around 4:30 p.m., several ambulances and an air ambulance were called. The trauma helicopter landed near the Sloterplas, after which the trauma doctor was taken by the police to Plein ’40-’45.
Initially, the emergency services assumed a stabbing, but it is unclear whether there was actually a stabbing. The victim has a head injury, but according to a police spokesman, that could also be because he fell during the fight. According to the police spokesman, the statements differ and it is therefore ‘hazy’ what exactly happened.
The others involved in the brawl fled. The air ambulance has also left. It is unclear whether the victim was taken to the hospital. One of the ambulances drove off with flashing lights and sirens.
