Man drowned at swimming lake in Rotterdam, boy (7) resuscitated | NOW

Two drowning people were taken out of the water at the beach of Nesselande in Rotterdam on Monday evening. A young adult man, whose identity has not yet been officially established, has died. Earlier in the evening, a seven-year-old boy was rushed to hospital in serious condition, a police spokesman said.

Emergency services pulled out for the second time that day at 8.45 pm because of a report about a drowning person in the Zevenhuizerplas. The fire brigade took a – according to friends – 25-year-old man out of the water. However, CPR on the beach was no longer helpful. It is still unknown how he was able to drown.

A seven-year-old boy had been taken out of the water just hours earlier in almost exactly the same spot. According to the police, he had been in the water for quite some time. The boy was resuscitated on the beach and transported to Erasmus MC in a very worrying condition. It is unknown how he is now.

Sunday, four people died along the Dutch beaches, reported Rescue Brigade Netherlands. In addition, rescue services removed dozens of people from the sea.
