Man (39) killed after crash against electricity pylon | Inland

Things went wrong in Heerlen around 3:15 am when the driver hit a signpost with his car and then hit a high-voltage pylon. The impact broke the vehicle in half. The driver, a 27-year-old man from Landgraaf, had to be freed from the wreckage. But help was no longer of use.

The police are further investigating the cause. No other road users were involved in the accident.

Also dead in Ruinerwold

A van with two passengers crashed into a tree on the Haakswold in Ruinerwold on Sunday morning. A 20-year-old man from Meppel died. A 22-year-old man from the same place was injured, reports the police in Drenthe.

Emergency services and the police arrived en masse. The accident took place in the municipality of De Wolden. An on-site investigation is carried out into the circumstances of the accident.
