Imam of Al Irfan Mosque, Derga, Abdul Hadi Awang said the tomb is the last resting place for someone who is well known by the locals.
“The deceased is a good person and was just buried about three weeks ago, and died in his 70s due to old illness,” he explained.
“Throughout his life, the deceased did a lot of charity work and charity at this mosque,” he said when met at the grounds of Al Irfan Mosque.
His party also regretted the viral news circulating.
One of the members of the Al Irfan Mosque, Alias Ishak (40) said that the mosque congregation agreed to report the incident to the police.
“It has been informed that the mosque congregation has reported to the police,” he said when contacted.
Alias also hopes that the viral story of the grave which is claimed by the community as ‘bloody’ will not spread again.
Because they do not want to cause slander and shame for the deceased and his heirs.
The Religious Official of Kota Setar Regency, Ahmad Faisol Omar, said that until now his party was still waiting for police investigation before making further comments regarding the matter.
“As a district religious official, I advise against sending viral videos,” he said.
“To maintain the sensitivity and feelings of the victim’s family members.”
“My side cannot confirm this and the actual decision requires the results of a forensic investigation,” he said.
Previously, Ahmad Faisol said that he had taken to the field to see the condition of the graves that were spread out on social media.
“We submit it to the police because this case is currently being investigated by the authorities,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kota Setar District Police Chief, Nor Azman Mohd Noor when contacted said further research is being done.
