Last year, the largest employer in the country was SIA “Maxima Latvija” with the average number of employees 7563, according to the State Revenue Service (SRS).

In total, more than 2,000 employees were employed in 14 companies in the country last year.
In the second place according to the average number of employees is SJSC “Latvijas dzelzceļš” with 6526 employees, but in the third place – SIA “Rimi Latvia” with 5747 employees.
These companies are followed by SIA “Rīgas Austrumu klīniskā universitātes slimnīca” with 4750 employees and SIA “Rīgas satiksme” with 4177 employees.
Companies such as AS “Latvijas pasts” with 4109 employees, SIA “Paula Stradiņa klīniskā universitātes slimnīca” with 3249 employees, SIA “Evolution Latvia” with 2888 employees, SIA “LDz Cargo” with 2603 employees and SIA are among the top ten employers. “Riga House Manager” with 2602 employees.
Last year, more than 2,000 employees were also employed by JSC “Sadales tīkls” with 2475 employees, road transport company SIA “Kreiss” – 2427 employees, SIA “Lenoka” – 2207 employees and SIA “Bērnu klīniskā universitātes slimnīca” – 2109 employees.
Last year, SJSC Latvijas dzelzceļš made the largest personal income tax (PIT) and state social insurance mandatory contributions (SSIAI) to the general state budget.
Information from the State Revenue Service (SRS) shows that last year “Latvijas dzelzceļš” paid PIT in the amount of 15.18 million euros, but SSIA – in the amount of 28.48 million euros.
In second place after paid labor taxes is SIA “Maxima Latvija” with 8.73 million euros in PIT and 18.12 million euros in SSIAI.
In the third place is SIA “Rīgas satiksme” with PIT in the amount of 9.63 million euros and SSIA in the amount of 17.43 million euros.
These companies are followed by SIA “Rimi Latvia” with 7.18 million euros PIT and 14.96 million VSAOI, as well as JSC “Sadales tīkls” with 7.86 million euros PIT and 14.4 million VSAOI.
