Mainfranken: A quarter of all employees work on short-time work

Because they are badly hit by the Corona crisis, many companies in the region are applying for short-time work. This is shown by current figures from the employment agency. Accordingly, 4,500 companies registered short-time work in Würzburg, Kitzingen and Main-Spessart in March and April. Almost 57,600 employees subject to social security are affected. That is more than a quarter of all employees in the agency district. Because information always comes with a time delay, the employment agency estimates that even more employees could actually be affected by short-time work. In general, she advises companies to submit short-time work applications as soon as possible. This is the only way to pay out money promptly.
