Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration Sammy Mahdi (CD&V) had to intervene in his neutral zone. It was intended for the hunger strikers, but was overrun by others who wanted to apply for asylum. From Monday they will no longer be in, but Mahdi remains behind his solution. “If treating hunger strikers as a priority is what we need to do to stop the action, then I’m willing to do it.”
