Magetan Regency Government’s Steps to Handle the Increasing DB Cases

Liputan6.com, Jakarta district government Magetan East Java said the number of dengue fever (DB) sufferers in its region began to increase during the rainy season.

From Health Office data Magetan Regency noted that in October 2021 there were 15 people with DB, November 2021 there were 25 sufferers, and December 2021 there were 31 sufferers.

Meanwhile, from January 2022 to the middle of this year, 41 DB sufferers have been recorded.

Head of the Magetan Health Office, Rohmad Hidayat, stated that the number of people with DHF in Magetan The rainy season from the end of 2021 to the beginning of 2022 is recorded to increase so it needs to be watched out for.

“It is estimated that the number of sufferers will continue to increase as the rainy season continues,” he said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday (26/1/2022).

He admitted that entering the rainy season there was an increase in the trend of dengue fever cases. The increase in cases did not only occur in Magetan, but also nationally.

This is because during the rainy season it is prone to puddles which are a place for Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to breed. The Magetan Health Office appealed to the public to increase awareness of dengue fever, which is also dangerous.

“We are preparing inpatient facilities as an effort to be aware of a spike in DB patients. Both at the Dr Sayidiman Hospital and at the puskesmas,” said Rohmad Hidayat.

He appealed to the public to be really aware of the disease. In addition, the health office also asked residents to be diligent in conducting counseling on eradicating mosquito nests (PSN).

“The community must monitor larvae on a regular basis. And carry out PSN counseling activities with 3M plus at least once a week,” he said.
