Madeira and Porto Santo on yellow alert due to hot weather

The entire region has been on yellow alert since 11:45 pm on Saturday due to the persistence of high values ​​of maximum temperature.

The alert due to the hot weather in Madeira and Porto Santo remains in effect until 9 pm today, indicates the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA).

The maximum temperature expected for Madeira is 29ºC, while the minimum temperature will be 21ºC. Porto Santo has a maximum temperature of 27º and a minimum of 22º.

The IPMA forecasts for this Sunday point to periods of very cloudy skies, becoming generally little cloudy from the morning, and the cloudiness may persist in the northern slopes of Madeira.

The wind will blow weak to moderate (10 to 30 km / h) from the northeast, blowing moderate to strong (30 to 45 km / h), especially from the afternoon, at the eastern and western ends of Madeira Island and in the highlands .
