The next few weeks will be difficult for France due to the growth of coronavirus cases, but the country can overcome this period if people show responsibility, said President Emmanuel Macron in a New Year’s address to his compatriots, quoted by Reuters, BTA reported.

Macron noted that France is better prepared to deal with the epidemic than a year ago due to the significant number of people who have been vaccinated, and called on anyone who has not yet been vaccinated against covid to do so.

The country must do everything possible to avoid imposing new restrictions that would restrict people’s freedoms, Macron said.
