Macbook Pro 13 inch with exclusive CPUs

May 13, 2020 –
In the Macbook Pro “Early 2020” with a 13-inch screen, processors are installed that cannot be found in any other notebook.

Apple uses very special processors in the recently launched 13-inch Macbook Pro, such as “Golem.de” reports. The tenth generation Core i CPUs built into this model are therefore not found in any other notebook. The difference to the usual Ice Lake U chips: The Apple variant is designed for a TDP of 28 watts, while the other manufacturers have to make do with 15 watts. The performance more is reflected in higher speed.

The exact names of the Apple-specific CPUs are Core i7-1068NG7 and Core i5-1038NG7. It is not known whether Apple remains the only customer that Intel supplies with the more powerful processor variants. In previous cases, where Apple had special Intel CPUs available, the exclusivity continued. One example is according to the 2014 Mac Mini article, which was the only device to receive a Core i7-4578U with Iris Pro graphics and eDRAM.
