At the start of the 2022 Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple introduced the new M2-powered MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. However, if the former was available for purchase, now is the time for a pre-sale date for the MacBook Air to be announced.
In an exclusive on the MacRumors website, it is now revealed that Apple’s new computer will be available for pre-order starting Friday, July 8. A week later, the July 15will be available in stores.
As of this writing, the computer is still listed on Apple’s website as “available in July.” But since MacRumors endorses itself as a “retail source,” we should take this date seriously.
The new MacBook Air doesn’t just come with the new M2 processor. It also integrates the design language pioneered by the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. It’s more “square”, has thinner edges, notch on the screen and MagSafe is back in the load.

The price also jumped significantly. In its version, the MacBookAir will cost €1,529 in Portugal. In this version, the M2 features an 8-core CPU and an 8-core GPU. In addition, it has 8 GB of unified memory and 256 GB of SSD storage.
In addition to the new processor and design, Apple advertises up to 18 hours of battery life. However, this is something that can only be verified in real tests. The team arrives with 1.24 kg and a thickness of 1.13 cm.
The new MacBook Air is available in four colors. In addition to the classic silver, we have space gray, starlight (gold), and midnight (dark blue). The charging cables will be the color of the chassis.
