Singer Maan de Steenwinkel is not quite telling the truth when she is asked by RTL Boulevard about the Eurovision Song Contest. At least, that’s what showbiz watcher Yvonne Coldeweijer thinks.
Moon came out with a huge teaser on her Instagram page at the start of the week. She reported that her “biggest news of the year” was imminent. Yvonne Coldeweijer soon wondered whether this might be about participating in the Eurovision Song Contest. It turned out to be some kind of concert in the Ziggo Dome in December 2022 (!).
‘Is that right?’
RTL Boulevard reporter Aran Bade got Maan in front of the camera yesterday and asked: “2022 can be a good year for you, because there is also a rumor that you are going to the Eurovision Song Contest.” She: “Is that so?” Him: “Yes.” She: “Really?” He: “Yes, we have that from reliable sources.”
Moon again: “Well, then you know more than I do.” Aran: “Is that so?” She: “Sure.” He: “Yes, I am now looking very closely at you to see if that is the case.”
‘Huh, the Eurovision Song Contest?’
Maan: “I posted on Insta yesterday: ‘Tomorrow I’m going to announce the coolest news of the year.’ And a lot of people did indeed say: ‘Ah, I’m sure, you are going to the Eurovision Song Contest.’ I thought: huh, to the Eurovision Song Contest? Will that be announced at all now or something?”
Aran: “Yes, at this time. Everyone is counting who it would be. Your name is really mentioned and it is even said that the killer song is already ready. Do you have it?”
Moon: “I really don’t know anything.”
‘Must think about it’
Aran: “Would you like it?”
Maan: “Ummm, I don’t know if I would like to now. I don’t rule it out. (…) I always follow it very closely and I also find it interesting to watch. I was also there last year in Ahoy’ and that was a really great show. Awesome. But to stand there myself: no, I have to think about that for a while.”
Ah, another singing talent that feels too big for the Eurovision Song Contest. Witty.
Yvonne doesn’t believe Moon
Yvonne Coldeweijer thinks she can read in Maan’s body language that she is lying hard. “I know this is a sneaky girl but she can’t lie. ‘I still have to think about that?’ You don’t say that if you haven’t even been asked! It’s hard to get around the questions…”
It is very strange, says Yvonne. “It seems to Jeroen van der Boom about André’s ‘burnout’. This girl knows more.”
Patty pulses
Patty Brard also asked how it all went, she tells Shownieuws. “I also heard today that there were rumors that Maan would go to the Eurovision Song Contest. We called again and the manager said very firmly, ‘Never, never, never, never.’”
Airen Mylene: “Never?”
Patty: “Well, not now anyway.”
William Rutten: “Just send Directly. That is an ideal band to send to the Eurovision Song Contest.”
