Romelu Lukaku briefly disappeared after his own goal buried hope Inter Milan champion Europa League. Now, Lukaku has appeared again.
Inter failed to win the Europa League title after losing 2-3 to Sevilla in the final. Sevilla’s decisive goal came thanks to a Lukaku suicide, who deflected Diego Carlos’ acrobatic shot in the 74th minute.
In fact, in that match Lukaku actually contributed to Inter’s two goals. He gave the Nerazzurri the lead in the fourth minute and his foul led to a Diego Godin goal from a free-kick.
Lukaku disappeared during the handover of the runners-up medal for Inter. He was reportedly devastated by the own goal.
Two days after the incident, Lukaku appeared on social media. He uploaded a photo on his personal Instagram account with a long sentence.
“First of all I want to thank you for all that you have done for my family and myself. This year as a team, we have grown rapidly together and it is an honor to represent the club I have loved since I was a child,” wrote Lukaku.
“Yes, what happened in the final pissed me off, but I’m going to fight. I’ve never experienced an easy way in life as you know, and this experience will make me stronger.”

Lukaku had a pretty good first season at Inter. From 51 matches in all competitions, the Belgian striker scored 34 goals and six assists.
