Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho once clashed at Real Madrid, with teammates able to prevent worse things from happening.
Real Madrid’s Luka Modric revealed in his biography ‘My Game’ how former real coach Jose Mourinho almost made superstar Cristiano Ronaldo cry.
“We were 2-0 up in the Copa del Rey. Ronaldo didn’t follow his opponent on a throw-in and Jose was mad at Cristiano,” remembers Modric.
Cristiano Ronaldo was close to tears
When the team went into the cabin at half-time, Ronaldo was very angry and close to tears, the Croatian international continues.
“I’m doing my best and he’s still criticizing me,” Ronaldo said, according to Modric. After Mourinho continued to criticize Ronaldo, the players had to intervene to prevent escalation.
