Luka Doncic Unveils Dramatic Physical Transformation Following Lakers Trade
Luka Doncic, the star player recently acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers, has revealed a significant physical transformation this offseason, showcasing a leaner physique that has drawn attention from both fans and media. The change comes after a challenging 2024-25 season that saw doncic traded from the Dallas Mavericks to the Lakers and subsequently hampered by injuries.
Doncic, who has been a subject of discussion regarding his conditioning throughout his seven-year NBA career, expressed his satisfaction with the results of his new regimen. “Just visually, I would say my whole body looks better,” Doncic stated in an interview with Men’s Health, which features him on their digital cover. this summer’s dedication to his training program was reportedly initiated immediately after the Lakers’ playoff elimination.
The 2024-25 season was marked by a significant trade that sent the five-time all-Star to Los Angeles. A calf injury limited Doncic to a career-low 50 games across both his stints with the Mavericks and the Lakers. The Lakers’ season concluded with a first-round playoff exit, losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in five games.
With two years remaining on his current contract, including a player option for the 2026-27 season, Doncic is eligible for a substantial contract extension. ESPN’s Bobby Marks reported that the Lakers will have the opportunity to offer Doncic a four-year deal worth $222 million starting August 2nd.
Doncic’s commitment to his offseason training was intense, with physiotherapist javier Barrio noting that the star abstained from basketball for an entire month, only resuming shooting drills in June. “Every summer I try my best to work on different things,” Doncic told Men’s Health. “Obviously,I’m very competitive. this summer was just a little bit different, you know.It kind of motivated me to be even better.”
Drawing inspiration from legendary players like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, whom he cited for their offseason dedication, Doncic views his current progress as a foundational step. “This year, with my team, I think we did a huge step,” he commented. “But this is just the start, you know. I need to keep going. can’t stop.”
