Luis Suarez was frustrated when Barcelona were held to a Celta Vigo draw at LaLiga. The gunman hope Real Madrid also slips for the rest of the season.
Barcelona drew 2-2 against Celta Vigo in a duel that was held at the Balaidos Stadium on Saturday (6/27/2020). Suarez’s two goals can be compared to the home side through the legs of Fyodor Smolov and Iago Aspas.
With the results of the series, Barcelona failed to increase the distance with Madrid in the Spanish League standings. Lionel Messi et al now collect 69 points from 32 matches, or only one point ahead of Madrid in second.
The whites can even overtake Barcelona if you win when you meet Espanyol tonight. The opportunity is wide open, considering that Madrid was in a positive trend when LaLiga rolled back after the COVID-19 pandemic, wiping out four wins.
The speed of Madrid is clearly a threat for Barcelona in the race for the Spanish League title. That also became a concern for Suarez.
The Barcelona striker is frustrated by the results his team got when they met Celta Vigo. Suarez also hopes that Madrid will also lose points and slip in subsequent matches.
“The sensation is really negative after this, we lost two points in the hunt for LaLiga champions. We have to fight for that and we hope Real Madrid lose points,” Suarez told ESPN, reported from Football Espana.
“It feels very frustrated because we failed to get full points. Now both teams have difficult matches to come,” he continued.
