German airline decided to go for a gender-neutral greeting

The move aims to make all passengers on board feel welcome, including those who do not identify as male or female.

On board the aircraft of the German aviation concern Lufthansa, the phrase “ladies and gentlemen” will no longer be used when addressing passengers. It will be replaced with a gender-neutral greeting. About this on Tuesday, July 13, informs edition of Die Welt.

According to a Lufthansa spokesman, employees will now address customers with the words “Hello”, “Good evening” or simply “Welcome aboard.”

“Crews have been instructed to select a greeting that includes all passengers,” he said, adding that the phrase “dear guests” would likely be used instead of the traditional greeting.

He also clarified that the transition to the new regulations will take some time. All airlines in the Lufthansa Group will use neutral calls.

A gender-neutral language will be introduced not only in communication with passengers, but also in communications within Lufthansa.

Recall Hollywood actor Billy Porter became the face capsule collection of gender neutral shoes in collaboration with the popular Jimmy Choo brand.
