Luca Borsato receives death threats after Voice scandal Marco

In the much-discussed broadcast of BOOS spicy allegations surface. For example, three candidates from The Voice Kids have reported to BOOShost Tim Hofman to tell their story. According to them, Marco was guilty of sexually transgressive behaviour.

This not only damaged Marco’s name, but also that of his children. For example, Luca says that his well-known surname is not just a privilege: ‘In recent years I have experienced the consequences if the helm changes.’ For example, he had been writing music for years and would even go public with it, but this came to a halt ‘due to circumstances’.

Luca is not only experiencing the consequences of the allegations musically. “Both hate comments and death threats are no longer strange to me today.” He also seems to want to distance himself from the situation surrounding his father: ‘As much as I would like to break free from something I am separate from, it seems impossible to do so.’

In his message, he also wants to emphasize that he “absolutely” does not want pity or “attention” by sharing this. He does hope, however, that he will no longer have to hide himself, ‘because this is simply the best for the current situation.’ He also writes that he wants to escape from ‘patterns of expectation and fear of negativity’. For that reason, he decides to pick up his dream again and will soon come up with his own music. ‘Without a label, without managers, without photographers or videographers, without a media team. Just myself with the support of my two best friends and fellow musicians, as it started three years ago.’

This step would not be self-evident, because it goes ‘against everything and everyone’s advice’. Yet Luca does not want to stand still any longer, he says. ‘I am my own person, with my own story and my own sound. That’s what I want to come out with.’

Luca’s mother Leontine responds to his message in her Instagram Stories. ‘Dear Luca, I am so very proud of you. Follow your own path and your heart.’ Leontine also fully supports her son’s music career. “Your music deserves to be heard,” she writes.

While Luca tries to save his career, Marco’s – according to Rob Goossens – cannot be recovered.
