L’Paille à sons Festival, in Chartres: a comeback and many questions

” I am optimistic ! “. Léo Brou, organizer of the L’Paille à sons festival, is keeping his fingers crossed so that the event can take place on June 4 and 5.

The cancellation of the seventh edition last year due to a health crisis, did not affect the determination of the members of the association Les Sons du sous-sol, which coordinates the event.

“We want to believe in better days, even if we ask ourselves a lot of questions”. The festival resumption protocol, adopted last week, should logically allow L’Paille à sons to stand. The rule: a maximum capacity of 5,000 spectators seated per day, outside, without catering or refreshments. A priori, it is possible.

“We are ‘lucky’ to be a small festival. We have never had more than 1,000 spectators per day in our previous editions, so we are not affected by the gauge ”

Another reflection, more philosophical this time. Is it really worth organizing a festival if the atmosphere isn’t there?

Léo Brou, is sorry:

“It is hard to imagine a rock or electro concert with a static audience that cannot eat, drink, or even chat. Taking part in such an event is a militant act, but not really festive ”

But these questions and uncertainties do not prevent making plans, even if it is still dotted. The poster is ready, but the organizers do not want to communicate on it yet. “It’s still a bit early,” concedes Léo Brou, who hopes to unveil the first names at the beginning of April … if the health situation does not worsen.

Scheduled for July 3 and 4, the Green Tea Festival is canceled in Nogent-le-Rotrou

“I prefer to organize appointments and then cancel them rather than doing nothing and regret”.

And even if the 2021 edition remains in suspense, the association Les Sons du sous-sol can count on its six new members, who “give a lot of new ideas”. Maybe in 2022 …
