It is rather a coincidence that Brecht got into the musical world. After his secondary studies at Ten Doorn in Eeklo, he started training in biomedical laboratory technology. It was during that study that he discovered the musical. “I was in the Chiro and I played football, but I always liked to sing. A friend asked me if musical would not be for me. I wanted to try that. Via that friend I ended up in the Ghent musical association Kamer 58, where James Cooke directed the plays. And that’s how the ball started rolling, “says Brecht.
After graduating as a laboratory technician, Brecht started his musical career. “I had only just discovered my love for musical, but in no time I had already completed a full musical education, in the Netherlands that is. It really all went into gear.” In the meantime he has landed roles in the Dutch musicals “Kinky Boots” and “Titanic”.
