Loud explosion: ATM in Kirchhellen blown up

Strangers blew up a Deutsche Bank ATM and sped away from the police in a sports car.

The ATM at the Deutsche Bank branch in Bottrop-Kirchhellen has been blown up. As witnesses report, there was a very loud explosion on the Kirchhellen shopping mile on Sunday night at around 12:40 a.m. The business premises of the financial institute on Hauptstrasse were also badly damaged.

The alerted police officers gained a first impression of the extent of the damage during the night. When they arrived on the spot in front of the money house, the perpetrators had already fled. Their tools for the demolition had been left at the crime scene. Gas bottles also stay there. Witnesses report that the strangers sped off in a black sports car.

It is not yet known whether the perpetrators stole the booty and how much. The police used a helicopter to search for the perpetrators. In addition, patrol cars were looking for them in the vicinity of the bank branch.
