New cast joins the “Percy JacksonSeries on Disney+: Glynn Turman (Women of the Movement, How to Get Away with Murder), Jason Mantzoukas (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Big Mouth), Virginia Kull (Super Pumped, Big Little Lies), Timm Sharp (Enlightened, Blunt Talk) and Megan Mullally (Will & Grace, Party Down). They join previously cast youngsters Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri and Leah Sava Jeffries.
Filming is now starting in Vancouver. The screenplay for the series is by Rick Riordan, who wrote the original, and by Jon Steinberg (Black Sails, The Old Man). James Bobin will directAlice in Wonderland: Through the Looking Glass“). 20th Television acts as the studio.

It tells the story of the 12-year-old title character, played by Scobell, who is a demigod. Along with his friends Grover (Simhadri) and Annabeth (Jeffries), Percy embarks on an epic adventure. He has to learn to cope with his newly discovered superpowers. And then the wrath of Zeus, who thinks he stole his powerful lightning bolt, catches up with him…
Mullally stars as Alecto aka Mrs. Dodds, Percy’s strict math teacher who stars as one of the Three Furies. She serves Hades, god of the underworld. Mantzoukas plays Dionysus aka Mr. D., the sarcastic demigod in charge of joy, grapes, fertility, madness, ecstasy and the theatre. Kull plays Sally Jackson, Percy’s loving mother. She knew from birth what a dangerous fate with the Greek gods awaited her son.
Turman stars as Chiron aka Mr. Brunner, a famous centaur who trains for heroes like Percy, initially disguising himself as his Latin teacher. Sharp plays Gabe Ugliano, Sally’s self-absorbed husband and Percy’s stepfather
