LOT: New Terminal at New York JFK Airport » news | hint

LOT Polish Airlines will move into the new Terminal 1 at New York’s JFK Airport. Central Europe’s leading airline and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the operator of the airport, have agreed on this after around two years of negotiations. Along with Etihad Airways and Air France, Star Alliance member LOT Polish Airlines will be one of the three main users of the new terminal.

construction of New Terminal One (NTO)

The new state-of-the-art terminal is designed exclusively for international flights and will have 23 gates. It is planned to start construction of the approximately 220,000m2 NTO as early as this summer. The construction, which will take place in different phases – starting with a new arrival and departure hall – is estimated to cost around USD 9.5 billion. The costs are borne by a private consortium with numerous well-known companies, including Ferrovial, Carlyle, JLC Infrastructure and Ullico.
Upon final completion, scheduled for 2030, the NTO will be the largest terminal at JFK Airport.

Among other things, LOT Polish Airlines will maintain its own LOT Business Lounge in the NTO. This should extend over two floors and offer passengers direct access to the aircraft.
“We are very pleased to be part of this great and in many ways groundbreaking terminal,” said Rafał Milczarski, CEO and President of the Management Board at LOT Polish Airlines. “We also see this as recognition of our almost 50-year partnership with John F. Kennedy International Airport.” (red)
